The thriving market was between the old town and the castle, and presumably has always been so.

The fruit was local and in-season - the black cherries were certainly freshly picked, ripe and delicious 

If you forget to bring your hat, this is the place to come.

The tower on the castle provides an excellent view of the city, as well as of the castle itself. 

The Casemate

This fortified chamber, deep in the castle's defences, now proudly exibits some intriguing art.
