Back To "Trees with Character"

Our tutors introduced us to macro photography, although most of the photos on this page were taken with a standard lens at its closest focusing distance.  By habit, I used a wide aperture for most shots, but many could have done with a bit more depth of field.  In the dull light (which was actually just right for the subject) a high ISO was needed.

85mm 1/125sec f2.8 -1/3 stop (ISO 200)
85mm 1/400sec f1.8 -1/3 stop (ISO 200)
85mm 1/400sec f1.8 -1/3 stop (ISO 200)
85mm 1/80sec f3.5 -1/3 stop (ISO 200)
85mm 1/100sec f2.8 -1/3 stop (ISO 200)
85mm 1/500sec f1.8 -1/3 stop (ISO 200)
85mm 1/250sec f1.8 +1/3 stop (ISO 400)

The photographs below were taken with the camera's built-in flash to brighten the subject

85mm 1/250sec f2 +1/3 stop flash on (ISO 400)
85mm 1/250sec f1.8 +1/3 stop flash on (ISO 400)
85mm 1/80sec f3.2 +1/3 stop flash on (ISO 400)
85mm 1/40sec f6.3 flash on (ISO 400)
